Packed like sardines

Today I went to Sitex 2008! Knowing it will be very very crowded, I thought I could beat half of those shoppers by going earlier. To my dismay, its already packed like crazy when I reached there. No choice... Squeeze!!! Haha... Usually, I would avoid such situations. As I need to get my LCDs this time, I do not have much choice. Trying to squeeze around the halls to get to the different exhibitors and get the stuff I want and get out of there. Hit and run tactic. Heh heh.

The exhibitors seemed to have deployed different tactics this time round. Few years back, they used pretty models as attractions. Just like race queens but they the various exhibitors’ names printed on them. This time round, big sign boards and loud headers shouting for the best bargains. Guess they realized techies are no longer just guys. There are many female shoppers there too.

I got my LCD le! Now left the wall mount and the shelf.

Pillars in the company

When I first joined the Phillip, Jay told me that our company can stand against strong winds and tides because of the few pillars in our company. I couldn't really understand what he meant then.

Just few days ago, I said the exact same words to my new colleague, Lenny. Not only have I understood the meaning of it but witness the strength of one of the pillars just today. The pillars are referring to the few key positions holders in my company. You have to work with them to feel and get attracted by the authority they command. Will I ever reach such a level where I no longer need to depend on others and can be dependant on.

Sadly, my department 'head' is far from being a pillar.

A stroke of bad luck... Make that many strokes

I really think that I cannot gamble when money is involved. The luck of my draws becomes lousy when money is involved... maybe this is the way fate reminds me not to engross in gambling.

Today was at Huiling's house for a gathering. Been a very long time since we had a gathering for the ex-poems marketing. It is half a gathering, half a mahjong session. Played one 'pok'. Freaking terrible draws. None of my cards seems to fit with any others for all the rounds. Without any surprises... I became the grand loser. Haha...

I still like my ex-poems marketing friends. ^^
Wish that you enjoy ur NZ trip.

Sunday

Today is Sunday

Didn't accomplish much today except that I finally kept my Korean trip fotos into an album. Great achievement! Haha.

Freaking pressurized recently sia... First, it's my pressure to compliment you. Now, I need to find a fresh bed time story within 5 hrs. Haha... I wonder what’s next. Hohoho...

Bedtime Story no.1: The Abandoned Shoe

I've heard of ghosts and UFOs
And things that don't make sense
And miracles and spooky stuff
That keep you in suspense.

But here's tricky puzzle
Which defies all explanation
Where do the abandoned shoes come from
On the highways of our nation?

Do people who are driving cars
Just look down at their feet
And decide their shoes have had their day
And throw them on the street?

And, if that's true, then why just one?
And is it left or right?
And what do they do with the other one
When they limp back home at night?

It doesn't seem to matter
If it's trainers, boots or shoes
There’s only one on every road
And never any clues.

Perhaps the cobbler's little elves
Have made an extra load
And so they throw the spare ones out
To wither on the road?

Or perhaps one-legged drivers
Who travel near and far
Pick up the shoe they now don’t need
And toss it out the car?

Or maybe careless truckers
Who deliver shoes to stores
Drive over bumpy potholes
And the shoes bounce out the doors?

But I fear the case of the abandoned shoe
Will remain, to some extent,
Another of life's great mysteries,
An unexplained event.

Revisit

A sudden thought to have a re-visit of my blog.

This is my second blog. The first one had a full stop to it as it had served its purpose for why it was started. The second one was started to serve as a link to my brother who was in Japan then. It was to update him of all that has happened in SG when he was not here. But I got too lazy to update it... and stop.

It was almost a year now since I stop... A sudden urge to have a re-visit on my blog and leave an entry on it. Wonder if this will go on...

Thinking back, I realized the time when I really enjoyed leaving entries of my life in the cyberspace. And I was a happier person then.

I have re-visited.
Tadaima. (I'm back)
