The Fool

The Fool desires to achieve great things in life, but does not always anticipate the hard work required. Full of curiosity and searching for answers, the Fool symbolizes a new beginning and endless optimism. He must be careful in the decisions he makes, as his lack of experience is often a hindrance. While others may avoid taking on insurmountable odds, The Fool will attempt to accomplish near impossible goals with almost reckless abandon.

Found this in the tarot reading from facebook. Anyone believes in tarot reading? Anyway, add me to facebook!

The Tai Chi Master

At my work place, there lives a Tai Chi Master. After encountering a few display of his skill level, I strongly believe that he is at least of level 80 or even higher. Only time will tell.

This document, with his signature on it, was found to have error. Using his killer move, he tai chi all the blame to my charming boss who was on leave that day. My poor boss who’s on holiday is stabbed on the back while he’s ‘overseas’.

A client wants to speak to a higher management of the department. A simple phone call was tai chi away using 1001 style method. A 30 minutes problem had turned into a 3 day event and still counting. I can feel the agony of my poor colleague attending to this customer.

Finally, I was the master’s next target. My boss tried to protect me, but he was no match for the master’s hidden special move. I was hit by an arrow that is not within my job scope because the master is lonely as his direct subordinates are moving by end of the year. I have become the filling to this gap.

So who is this tai chi master? He’s none other than my boss’s boss. What to do? Time to take up some tai chi lessons for self defense.

Scam alert!

The weather is so hot today! I went out to buy something. On the way home, I pass by the Mac Donalds at Tiong Bahru Plaza. Unable to stand the heat, I took my wallet out and wanted to buy myself something cold. I saw the new flavors advertisement for Mcflurry (mudpie and berry and cookie flavor) and thought I might have a try. Though it is more expensive as compared to a normal Mcflurry or a sundae, I felt adventurous that moment and ordered a berry and cookie flavor.

When cup is passed to me, I already felt very disappointed just by looking at it. I thought they would have used strawberry ice cream as the base and blend it with the cookies bits. But it seems like they only used the normal vanilla ice cream and added the cookie bits and strawberry sauce to blend. I will not comment anything on the taste but leave it for your imagination on how tasty can such a mess be.

Anyway, the first impression that the new Mcflurry gave me is it is an idea from a very bored staff manning the desert counter. Out of boredom, he took everything he had in the counter and mix them into a cup and showed it to his manager to gain credit. It really makes me wonder if Mac Donald has any quality control when they push out new products.

I really regretted buying that cup and felt like I am being scammed. It is the most expensive item in the desert counter yet it is the most disappointing. No more Mac Donald deserts for me.

PS: The deserts advertisements that I see on the MTV channel of fast food in Taiwan (such as KFC) are always so appealing. Why is Singapore’s standard so far from them.

Second weekend after work started

Before I started work, I am unable to track the day of the week. This is because there is no reason in tracking it as there won’t be of any difference if I know which day of the week is it. Everyday was kind of like the same. Since I started work already, the sense of which day is it has returned to me. I do look forward to the weekends during the weekdays.

But how am I using my weekends since I started working? I revert back to the days before I started working (minus the sending out of resumes). Lol. Life feels so dead. *Zombie mode turned on.* Gwarrrrr... Maybe the author of resident evil got his inspiration from this thought, that every working man is just a zombie with a façade of a living man. Thus making the whole city filled with zombies. (Anyone got resident evil’s movie 2 and 3? Can lend me?)

PS: any good movies to recommend recently? any peeps wan catch it together? lol.

Anime Mini Pet!

Surfing around the net randomly on a lazy Sunday morning. I was reading this page titled “Strange marine creatures”. In deed, there is a lot of strange looking marine life that share the same planet with us. Some are quite scary to look at and some are quite ugly.

But there is one creature listed within the page that is neither scary nor ugly. In fact, I find it quite cute! It is an amphibian called the axolotl. The only places on earth you can find one of these are at Lake Xochimilco in Mexico. It seems like they had been tamed and can be kept as household pets already. A link for those who are interested http://www.axolotl.org/ and a picture for those who wants a glimpse.

The first impression it gave me is that it came out from some anime series, like a mini pet is always found beside some main character of the fantasy anime. Maybe I been watching too much anime these days and it explains why I link it up at an instant sight of the picture. Lol.

Anyone interested of getting one as pet? If you are, do tell me please. I am sure to visit your house frequently. Lol.

My third attempt for cheese cake!

Yesterday was my third attempt for cheese cake! Hmmm... I must say, though it’s the third try, it is still not very good.

Mistake 1 – I did not follow the recipe exactly. I didn’t use corn flour as I cannot find any in my house. Lol. And I am lazy to go buy a packet.
Mistake 2 – I opened the oven too early. I think this caused some problem to the baking but I do not know what. Lol.

Results:
1. Cracks on the top of my cheese cake. (But it closed back after chilling. Lol)
2. The cake is quite dry to eat. Have not found the reason, will check it up before my next attempt.
3. Pictures are as below. Lol

Open oven too early! Top is not browned yet.

Cracks! Earthquake! Sadded.

After chilled.

2 days after work

Didn’t expect myself to blog about my work so fast. But I guess it can’t be helped once u stepped into the mud yourself.

First the environment. I am in the small marketing department in my company which consists of only 4 persons including my boss. My boss is a charming looking young man and who is in the company for 5 yrs already. The other two colleagues are both female. One of them is an Indonesian-Chinese is beautiful in my opinion. Both of them are always very busy because the new sotong who just joined and could not help them to lessen the current work load. The sitting arrangement in the office is such that there’s a 1 man department (or should I say one lady department) behind me. So if u do the maths properly, 3 girls : 2 guys, making me working in a female environment now. Lol.

About me. The bad. My eyes are dry... My throat is dry... All because of the prolong hours in an air-con room. SPARTANS! The dryness is so hash that my eyes are consistently in a blood shot appearance. Maybe should start using Eyemo eye-drop le. Lol. The good. It just takes me 20 minutes to get from my house to my workplace by MRT in the morning. Wahahaha. And if there’s no waiting time for the bus, I can reach home in 12~13 minutes. Don’t hate me people. Lol.

My thoughts. Its just two days since I started work in the company. But from the information collected now, I think I should be all right in this company. It will be a good training ground to kick off my work life. Things seems good now cause I have not find out the deep and dirty part of job yet. Hope I do not need to handle too much of those dirty jobs.

My first. Experience of office politics. I stupidly tried to laugh it off, but guess it’s the wrong way to handle it. Note to Miyuki, open your ears and eyes bigger next time.
