Friday, September 21, 2007DefermentYesterday, I got deselected from a job interview when I told them I will be having reservist for the next 2 weeks. Manzz... Someone teach me how not to hate SAF when such things happen.Didn’t have a good night sleep last night. I keep waking up at an hour’s interval. Not kidding! Every time I woke up thinking its time to get up and prepare but only to realize that only an hour had past. This on and off had really gave hell to me early morning. Getting off the bus and realizing it’s a 600+m walk from the bus-stop to the gate of the camp didn’t help with my aching head. Reached there and was instructed to wait and wait at the canteen. Finally someone came and took us to an air-conditioned room. Felt a little better. After a whole mess of things, the instructor called me out and tells me to look for the deferment lady. What luck! They said that they are unable to let me off a day for my interview and suggested me to defer for the whole course. The deferment lady, after seeing me directed me to another chief deferment lady. But the chief deferment lady is not within the same camp, but rather 32km away! Just when my numb head was getting some reaction to the 32km, a going to be deferred guy beside me said he has his transport and offered me a ferry to the chief deferment clerk. I must have stepped on a 4 leaf clover somewhere along the way when I traveled here. After meeting up with the chief deferment lady and explaining my situation to her, with a frown, she said my reason is not a valid one for deferment. But due to some ISO standard, the course instructors cannot accept me and she finally approved my deferment! Lady luck must have been walking her dog and past me this morning. ^_^ If I am allowed to make a wish now, I would want two things. Details will not be given, but after repeated generalization and simplification, I offer three words. Money and Woman. Lol A spider in my freezer! PS: deferment lady and chief deferment lady are not the actual title of the two wonderful ladies mentioned in the entry above. Nin... @
